An Other City
In his first film, the architect and critic Rasmus Waern follows the career of the Swedish urban planner Jan Inghe (1944-2005), from the construction of the Minneberg district in the 1970s to the Södra station in the 80s, and finally Hammaby Sjöstad in the 90s. The latter is seen as a template for designing a sustainable, eco-friendly urban environment and has had a huge global impact. Using parallels of other cities in Scandinavia but also in China, the film reveals and discusses how cities are seen today and how they have developed into being good, communal living spaces that are at one with nature.
