The importance of being an architect

A documentary film conceived as a virtual dialogue and musical journey in four acts that examines the responsibility of architects in building the society of tomorrow. Through the eyes of Antonio Citterio, one of Italy’s best-known designers worldwide, and Patricia Viel, co-founders of the Milan-based architecture firm ACPV, the film leads us to a vision of design in the architecture of tomorrow, centred on the armistice between nature and the build environment. Alternating dialogues with various personalities from the world of fashion, art, and design, and examining the architectures designed by ACPV, the documentary offers a vision of the post-Covid world amid the climate crisis and urban redistribution; from the story of computational design through international projects and technological innovation to travel as the primary engine of inexhaustible inspiration. The latent energy contained in architectural places is evoked through musical scenes set in different parts of the world (Milan, L’Aquila, Hamburg, Taichung, Miami), in which individual musicians spread spatially distant notes that meet in a single composition capable of breaking down distances and projecting humankind in its natural habitat, that of the cities of tomorrow. World Première: Monday 18th October, 19:00 (entrance at 18.30), at Teatro della Triennale.
